Forbes released its list of the 400 richest Americans on Monday, and, unsurprisingly, numerous NFL and NBA owners appeared on the ranking.
Fourteen NFL owners were represented, topped by Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trailblazers owner Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft. Allen, the 26th-richest American, is worth $15.6 billion, according to Forbes.
Other notable NFL owners included Jerry Jones ($3 billion, 166th-richest), Robert Kraft ($2.9 billion, 184) and outspoken Colts owner Jim Irsay ($1.6 billion), who ranked a paltry 342nd on the list.
Thirteen NBA owners made the cut, headlined by Magic owner Rich DeVos, whose $6.8 billion net worth ranks 60th on the entire list. Heat owner Micky Arison ($5.9 billion, 70th), Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert ($3.9 billion, 118) and Mark Cuban ($2.5 billion, 222) were all included as well.
Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov, from Russia, is worth a reported $13 billion.
As noted by ESPN’s Darren Rovell, the richest man with ties to the sports world would be Nike founder Phil Knight, whose $16.3 billion ranks him 24th in the country.
