Fans injured during three-car crash at Grand Prix of Houston
Dario Franchitti's car went airborne on the final lap of Sunday's race, sending car and fence debris into the stands. Thirteen people were reportedly injured, along with Franchitti, who suffered back and ankle pain.

A three-car crash on the final lap of the Grand Prix of Houston sent pieces of fence debris into the crowd and injured at least 13 people, according to KTRK-TV in Houston.
Most were treated immediately but three were taken to a local hospital, according to the station.
Dario Franchitti’s car left the ground during the final lap at Reliant Park in a crash that also involved E.J. Viso and Takuma Sato. While the other two drivers walked away safely, workers immediately attended to Franchitti before an ambulance arrived. He was awake and alert following the crash.
Team owner Chip Ganassi said Franchitti was OK, but that he had suffered some back and ankle pain.
“He’s talking. His ankle is a little sore. His back is a little sore. He’s going to take a trip to the hospital but he’s OK,” Ganassi said.
