LOOK: Boston marathoner falls near mile 26, four others carry him to end
Four runners in today's Boston Marathon were determined to finish the race with a fellow runner who had fallen near the end.
Running a marathon, especially one as sentimental as this year’s Boston Marathon, isn’t so much about winning the race as it is about finishing it.
Which brings us to the most memorable image/story of this year’s race, as witnessed by Washington Post reporter Wesley Lowery.

Determined, the two new saviors lifted his legs. He had just a few hundred feet to go. They would get him there pic.twitter.com/5tXvNyDGUJ— Wesley Lowery (@WesleyLowery) April 21, 2014
Lowery reported that the crowd at the finish line erupted as all five finished the race.
