Chipotle and MLS held its inaugural homegrown match Monday night in Portland, a sponsorship highlighting the league’s top homegrown talent. The roster, featuring US men’s national team defender DeAndre Yedlin, drew 0-0 with the Portland Timbers’ U-23 team, but the jerseys the Homegrown’s wore were nothing short of spectacular.
The deal is Chipotle’s largest sports partnership, and is great because who doesn’t love Chipotle and soccer. (The MLS All-Star game is Wednesday night at 9:30 p.m. ET against Bayern Munich. Don't miss it.) On that note, that's a huge Chipotle logo on the field before last night's game.
Kansas City keeper Jon Kempin won the MVP, and it looks like he got a trophy instead of burritos for life. Tough break, brother.
