Neymar passes physical, joins Barcelona teammates in training
The Brazilian striker will undergo further tests on his injured back, but his prognosis is good.
Barcelona striker Neymar joined his teammates Wednesday in a training session for the first time since fracturing a vertebra during the World Cup. The Spanish club announced he would also participate in an afternoon session, and the Brazilian star will undergo a thorough evaluation in the near future.
Neymar is targeting an Aug. 18 friendly for his return, though obviously his status will be determined after the club's evaluation.
The 22-year-old said last week that his back was "almost 100 percent."
Barcelona will begin play officially Aug. 24.
