Seattle F Clint Dempsey agrees to two-month loan with Fulham
Clint Dempsey will spend the next two months with Fulham as he tries to get into top form ahead of this summer's World Cup.
Clint Dempsey, who signed with the MLS’s Seattle Sounders this past summer, will be on a two-month loan with his former Fulham club.
Dempsey scored 60 goals in 225 games for Fulham from 2007-2012. No dates were announced for when he would return, but, presumably, he’d be back in March for the start of the MLS season.
Fulham is currently 19th in the Premier League and desperate for some scoring. Enter Dempsey.
“It feels good to be back,” the USMNT star said. “This has always felt like my home in Europe. … I want to help the team when they’re not in the position they want to be in the table.”
As for American soccer fans, Dempsey sees this move as a chance to better prepare himself for Brazil.
“Going into a World Cup year, you want to get into that top form and carry that forward so hopefully you can have a good showing,” he said.
He probably should start
