US Open play suspended due to lightning; rain expected in the area
Lightning and rain have suspended play Wednesday at the US Open.
The US Open has been suspended due to lightning and rain in the area Wednesday. Play will resume no sooner than 2:30 p.m. ET.
Some matches were able to be completed Wednesday prior to the delay, but several have yet to begin.
Among the bigger names scheduled to compete Wednesday are the Williams sisters and Andy Murray.
