VIDEO: Fan storms field to hug James Rodriguez in Real Madrid intro
Colombian star James Rodriguez was introduced to the fans of Real Madrid on Monday and one fan decided to storm the pitch for a hug and the star obliged.
On Monday the long-awaited transfer of Colombian soccer star James Rodriguez to Real Madrid was completed, made official with quite the introduction at Santiago Bernabeu.
Dressed in his new white Real Madrid kit, Rodriguez was treating the fans in the stands going crazy as if it were the British Invasion all over again. With fans screaming and hoping the World Cup's leading scorer might kick a ball their way, one fan decided he wanted more; a hug.
Somehow, with security guards spaced about three feet apart, a fan was able to streak onto the pitch and latch on to Rodriguez for a hug. In what had to be a bit of a terrifying moment, Rodriguez actually handled it pretty well. Rodriguez was actually trying to get the security to back off the fan in the Colombian jersey and then Rodriguez gave him a hug as well as a ball as he escorted the fan off the pitch.
Think they are excited for arguably the most electrifying player of the World Cup to line up alongside Cristiano Ronaldo to try and bring the La Liga crown back to the other side of town?
