Police are considering filing charges after a Pennsylvania high school football player removed an opponent’s helmet during a game this past Friday, then proceeded to twice bash him in the head with the helmet, WGAL TV in Pennsylvania reported.
As the video shows, Hamburg senior Joe Cominsky (No. 15) yanked the helmet off Annville-Cleona’s Josh Hartman and struck him twice in the head before Cominsky was ejected. Hartman’s teammate Taylor Prentice lunged into the fracas and began throwing punches as well. He was subsequently ejected.
A Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association hearing is scheduled for Wednesday to review the incident.
“We are looking at one person particularly at this time,” Police chief Ben Sutcliffe said to WGAL. “However, upon more information there might be more involved.
