VIDEO: Nadal's awe-inspiring return could be shot of US Open
At the very beginning of Rafael Nadal's assault on unseeded Ryan Harrison on Monday, the Spaniard offered what could perhaps be the best shot of the US Open.
American Ryan Harrison earned the dubious distinction of having to begin his US Open campaign against No. 2 Rafael Nadal on Monday, the Spaniard boasting a 53-3 record on the season heading into the match.
Needless to say, Harrison, the 21-year-old who’s ranked 97th in the world, felt helplessly overmatched, eventually succumbing in straight sets.
It didn’t help his wavering confidence -- just four points into the first game -- when Nadal chased down what should’ve been an easy forehand slam for Harrison, and returned it, unconcerned with the laws of physics.
It’s the early clubhouse leader for shot of the tournament.
