Researchers created a motion-tracking table tennis game whose play is synchronized to a mesmerizing light show.
As if returning feverish rallies wasn’t hard enough, a research team has developed a new version of table tennis that uses motion tracking technology while simultaneously putting on a spectacular projection light show.
According to Business Insider, Pingtime creates an environment in which “spectators and participants become dazzled by the magic reactive visual effects this new gaming interface delivers.”
Created for the Rokolectiv Arts festival in Romania, the four-person team developed a new spin off the classic game that is both club-thumping and mesmerizing.
