WATCH: High schooler plays defense, scores

Rarely does a full-court press work out this well.

Eisenhower (Illinois) senior Kalin Hawkins somehow managed to score a basket just by defending an in-bounds pass.

“I was just trying to distract the in-bounder,” Hawkins said to The Chicago Tribune. “I knew it was going in when I saw it go [up]. It’s been crazy since. I’ve gotten a lot more followers on Twitter.”

Hawkins initially had his back to the passer as the rest of his teammates were pressing the length of the court, but after he whirls around, the ball caromed off his left hand straight into the hoop.

Eisenhower wound up winning the game, 87-85.
