WATCH: HS back dodges eight players en route to incredible TD
It took more than 30 seconds, but Randolph Zleh, a HS running back for Mount Pleasant in Rhode Island, dodged, dipped, dived, ducked and dodged his way to an incredible touchdown.
Sixty-eight yards away from the end zone with just three seconds remaining in a half, most coaches opt for conservative play-calling, hoping to kill the clock, preserve the lead, and most importantly, avoid any catastrophic turnovers.
That’s what Mount Pleasant High (Providence, RI) coach Paul Rao did, but the coach couldn’t help it if his star running back wouldn’t go down.
Randolph Zleh took a fairly innocuous screen pass, bolted to the right, dodged three defenders, scampered back to the left, escaped about five more, before ultimately scoring down the right sidelines. The play, as documented by The Providence Journal, occurred two weeks ago, but is just now gaining traction. As well it should. Sure, the tackling was atrocious, but Zleh looked like the Human Joystick.
Zleh finished with four touchdowns in total as Mount Pleasant pounded East Greenwich 46-0.
