WATCH: President Obama plays soccer with a robot
This robot can run, hop on one foot, speak rather politely and lay a perfect pass to the leader of the free world.
President Obama was in Japan on Thursday, and in between promoting a greater technological initiative, the POTUS had a chance to play some soccer with a robot.
Designed by Honda, the robot ASIMO is roughly the size of Lionel Messi and is a little bit too life-like, even for the President.
"I have to say that the robots were a little scary," Obama remarked to the Washington Post.
After showing off its running speed, ASIMO told Obama that it could also drill a soccer ball. Top marks for ASIMO and a decent trap by the POTUS.
It's not hard to imagine ASIMO as the primary attacker for team robot at the 2026 World Cup.
