Shootouts still a problem
--Shootouts continue to be a major problem for the Canadiens, who are 2-8 this season. Goaltender Carey Price, who is 2-7, has taken the brunt of the criticism for the failure. But the Canadiens also have one of the lowest shooting percentages in shootouts; they were 0 for 3 Wednesday.
--The win gave the Bruins a 4-2 victory in the season series against the Canadiens; Boston has won the last four meetings. The Bruins were 1 for 6 on the power play but also gave a shorthanded goal to Mathieu Darche. The Canadiens' power play went 0 for 4.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"My failure to score in the shootout is unacceptable. The coaches send me out there for a reason, but I have a terrible record in shootouts this season." -- Max Pacioretty, who leads the Canadiens with 24 goals but is 1 of 8 in shootouts.
