GENEVA (AP) -Swiss football officials have given permission for England to host Italy in a friendly in their country on Aug. 15.
Switzerland Football Association spokesman Marco von Ah tells The Associated Press that England has a "completely free" choice of stadiums to use, including Stade de Geneve.
England has good memories of playing in Geneva, having beaten Argentina 3-2 in a thrilling friendly there in 2005.
International football rules require a host nation's approval before two countries can play on neutral territory.
Von Ah says Switzerland gave the green light because coach Ottmar Hitzfeld's team is scheduled to play at Croatia on that date.
