PAOK wins 3-0 at Xanthi, shares Greek league lead


ATHENS, Greece (AP) -PAOK climbed into a four-way share of the lead in the Greek league after easily handling host Xanthi 3-0 on Saturday.

Stefanos Athanassiadis, Bertrand Robert and Costin Lazar scored for PAOK.

With it on top of the standings were Asteras, a 2-1 winner over newcomer Platanias, Panionios, which tumbled 3-0 at Levadiakos, and defending champion Olympiakos, which hosts Panthrtakikos on Sunday.

PAOK had an easier than expected time at Xanthi, missing several chances for a wider victory margin.

Athanassiadis opened the scoring with a penalty in the 10th minute, Robert charged into the area to make it 2-0 in the 54th, and Lazar closed the scoring in the 88th after a swift exchange of passes on the break.
