LA PAZ, Bolivia (AP) -Bolivia rallied for a 1-1 draw against Peru on Friday, earning a point in South American qualifying that did little for either of the two struggling teams.
Alejandro Chumacero of Bolivia scored in the 51st minute to level the match in the thin air of La Paz.
Peru took the lead in the 21st on a sensational goal, a 30-meter strike by Juan Carlos Marino.
Bolivia has only five points from eight matches, and Peru has eight after eight games. Both teams are underdogs to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, trailing top teams like Colombia and Argentina.
