Coach says Mtiliga will not play for Denmark again

MILAN (AP) -Denmark coach Morten Olsen says Patrick Mtiliga will not be called up to play for Denmark again after refusing to warm up before Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Italy because he had not been named in the starting lineup.

Simon Poulsen had to pull out of the game at the last minute with a muscle problem and was replaced by Michael Silberbauer.

However, Olsen says he had asked Mtiliga but the defender "refused to warm up before the match because he was too disappointed at not starting instead of Simon Poulsen ... it's unacceptable."

Olsen adds "Mtiliga has played his last match for Denmark."

Mtiliga, who plays for FC Nordsjaelland, has made six appearances for Denmark.

Denmark lost 3-1 to 10-man Italy at San Siro.
