SAO PAULO (AP) -Brazil's sports tribunal has cleared Santos to host matches at its Vila Belmiro Stadium after the club showed it made changes to allow ambulances to enter the field.
The tribunal had closed the stadium last week after an ambulance didn't have access to the pitch when a player was seriously injured in a Brazilian league match. Atletico Mineiro defender Rafael Marques stayed on the field for nearly 10 minutes as doctors tried to figure out a way to transport him.
Marques spent the night in a hospital but was released the next day after tests showed no serious injuries.
The tribunal said Wednesday that Santos proved it fixed the problem and the stadium will be used for the team's match against Nautico on Thursday.
