Kilmarnock ends 57-year wait for win at Celtic

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) -Celtic was beaten at home by Kilmarnock for the first time in 57 years on Saturday as the Scottish champions lost 2-0.

Cillian Sheridan put Kilmarnock in front just before half time, capitalizing on slack play by Efe Ambrose to race clear and round goalkeeper Fraser Forster before scoring into an empty goal.

Liam Kelly scored the second from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute after Emilio Izaguirre was adjudged to have fouled Rory McKenzie.

Despite the first loss at home to Kilmarnock since 1955, Celtic remains top, with the victors five points adrift in sixth place.

Three teams are level two points behind Celtic: Hibernian, which beat Motherwell 4-0 on Friday, Aberdeen, which beat Dundee 2-0, and St. Johnstone, which was held to a 1-1 draw at Inverness.
