LONDON (AP) -Chelsea has launched its second racism investigation this week after a fan was pictured making a monkey gesture during Wednesday's League Cup victory over Manchester United.
British media published the image of the fan making the apparent racist gesture.
Chelsea says it will "be examining all available footage and asks anyone who can identify the individual to contact the club."
The west London club says it is "committed to removing all forms of discrimination and if we have sufficient evidence we will take the strongest possible action, including supporting criminal prosecution."
Following a separate investigation, Chelsea sent a file to the English Football Association accusing referee Mark Clattenburg of directing a racial insult at midfielder John Mikel during Sunday's Premier League game against Manchester United.
