Lyon beats Bastia 5-2 to move into third place

PARIS (AP) -Lyon overcame spirited resistance from Bastia to win 5-2 on Sunday and move provisionally into third place in the French league, with both teams having a player sent off.

Lyon went 2-0 up thanks to goals from midfielder Maxime Gonalons and forward Alexandre Lacazette, but winger Whabi Khazri and midfielder Jerome Rothen replied to make it 2-2 with a goal either side of center half Dejan Lovren's red card for Lyon.

Lisandro Lopez restored Lyon's lead with a penalty in the 56th minute after Fetih Harek was sent off for the visitors. Jimmy Briand and Steed Malbranque added goals in stoppage time.

Earlier, Marseille won 2-0 at Ajaccio to move level on points with Paris Saint-Germain at the top. Toulouse could join them if it won at Bordeaux later Sunday.
