Aberdeen dominate St Mirren and Hearts rescue draw

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) -Aberdeen drew level with Celtic on top of the Scottish Premier League with a 4-1 away win over St. Mirren on Saturday.

Aberdeen, which has played two more games than Celtic, was 2-0 up by halftime through Johnny Hayes and Niall McGinn. Chris Clark and Mark Reynolds added on for the visitors, while St. Mirren had to be consoled with a goal by Steven Thompson.

Financially troubled Hearts snatched a 1-1 draw at Inverness after Marius Zaliukas scored a 90th-minute penalty kick.

The captain's strike after Callum Paterson was fouled in the area canceled out Owain Tudur Jones' fierce 30-yard opener in the 19th for Inverness.

Hearts warned that this might have been its last away match. The club announced this week it could be forced out of business by the end of the month because of an unpaid tax bill of around $720,000.

Kilmarnock beat Ross County 3-0, the team indebted to Paul Heffernan, who opened the scoring after 66 minutes, and was able to secure the match in the 82nd with his second strike. Gary Harkins scored the goal of the game, beating Ross County goalkeeper Michael Fraser from 20 yards.

The mid-table game between Motherwell and Dundee ended 1-1. Nicky Riley opened the scoring for Dundee after 28 minutes, but Motherwell's Michael Higdon was able to equalize just before halftime. Motherwell dominated, but Dundee's defense stayed firm. The point means Dundee could go above Aberdeen, if they win their next two games in hand.
