NYON, Switzerland (AP) -UEFA says it is "closely monitoring events in Israel" but has no immediate plans to move a Nov. 28 meeting in Tel Aviv, which has come under rocket attack by Palestinian militants after an Israeli offensive in Gaza.
UEFA is scheduled to draw groups in the eight-nation Under-21 European Championship, which Israel will host next June.
UEFA President Michel Platini and officials from competing nations, including England, Germany, Italy, Russia and Spain, are expected at the draw at the Hilton Hotel.
Spanish club Athletic Bilbao is due in Haifa next Thursday to play Hapoel Kiryat Shmona in the Europa League.
UEFA says it has contact with the Israeli Football Association and both clubs.
The European body will give an update Monday "once the situation has been thoroughly assessed."
