Giants, veteran D-lineman Cullen Jenkins agree to three-year deal

Cullen Jenkins has agreed to a three-year deal with the Giants, according to a league source.

The veteran defensive lineman has drawn interest from several teams since being released by the Eagles and now remains in the NFC East. The Giants recently retooled their defensive front, releasing lineman Chris Canty among others.

Jenkins was a standout for Green Bay as a versatile lineman and, though he has battled injuries, was valued on the open market. As he was released, rather than hitting the market due to expired contract, he was not subject to having to wait until the start of the league year on Tuesday to sign with a new team.

According to a source, Jenkins received $2 million to sign and could earn a max of $8 million in the deal, with $3 million guaranteed.
