Bowl projections shaken up again

Oklahoma's loss at home to Kansas State has caused the deck to get shuffled again with this week's bowl projections.

Starting at the top, Alabama is now the projected No. 1 team after LSU struggled to win at Auburn. Until the Tide look human, they'll stay there.

Florida State takes over one of the jinxed positions on the board at No. 2. The Seminoles beat Clemson this week and have the easiest road to an undefeated season.

LSU is now in the Sugar Bowl as Alabama's replacement instead of the other way around.

The Orange Bowl could take Clemson to replace Florida State, but the projection here is that it would choose to get a jump on the Notre Dame arrangement and take the Irish instead.

West Virginia is the new projected Big 12 champ in what figures to be a very competitive race. The Fiesta Bowl would rather have a Big Ten team to face the Mountaineers, but that league should consider itself fortunate to get its champion into the BCS this year. The Fiesta folks will take Pac-12 runner-up Oregon instead and be happy to have a potentially entertaining game.

The Sugar Bowl is left with a choice of Big East champ Louisville or automatic qualifier Boise State and would choose the Cardinals, leaving the Broncos to face the Irish in Miami.

And the Rose Bowl is happy to get Pac-12 champion USC and (in the other jinxed position) Big Ten winner Nebraska.

Also posted now are this week's BCS standings and the 1-124.
