Several post-Halloween scares, but top teams survive


That was a close one. Alabama got a last minute TD to survive at LSU. Notre Dame needed shanked FG attempt from Pitt and a third overtime to shake the Panthers. Kansas State won comfortably, but Collin Klein hurt his hand and his status is unknown.

No scare for Oregon though. I think they're still putting up points on USC. The Ducks should improve enough in the computers, and maybe even with voters, to move past the Irish into the third spot in this week's BCS ratings.

LSU will fall a bit after its loss to the Tide, but I expect the Tigers will stay in the top 10.

Any other shuffling in the top 15 should be minor at best.

And good news for big schools like Oklahoma and Clemson...Boise State is done as a BCS bowl possibility after its loss at home to San Diego State.
