Reggie Jackson apparently has chosen to return to the Yankees this weekend rather than attend the Hall of Fame ceremonies.
"We are not expecting him. He always has the option to change plans and attend of course,'' said Brad Horn, senior director of communications for the Hall of Fame.
Can't say that's a surprise. The Yankees pay Jackson about $750,000 a year.
That's the main point, of course, but it'll be easier to face Alex Rodriguez, a non-confrontational sort, than the wrath of a bunch of Hall of Famers upset over Jackson questioning whether they belong to be there.
The Yankees the Hall of Famer "on ice'' after Jackson said disaparaging things about A-Rod, Andy Pettitte and several Hall of Famers. They told him he could return to the team this weekend for its games at Oakland, the site of Jackson's first baseball heroics.
