Crazed fan that interrupted U.S. Open trophy ceremony apologizes to Webb Simpson

By Shane Bacon | Blogger

You'd have to be living under a rock not to have heard about the kooky fan that ran out during the U.S. Open trophy ceremony, interrupted Webb Simpson's victory lap for a moment before he got taken down by USGA Executive Director Mike Davis.

The guy has revealed as being some advocate against deforestation ("the removal of a forest or stand of trees where the land is thereafter converted to a nonforest use"), and went on CNN to apologize for interrupted the ceremony and to Simpson himself.

Honestly, the guy is a nut and we all know that, but at least he went on to say sorry to Webb, who famously yelled out after the cops dragged him away "Enjoy the jail cell, pal."

So, yes, bird calls, a British hat and apologies. This is what some might remember from Olympic Club.
