Paul Azinger: "(Tiger Woods) acted like the south end of a northbound mule"

Since going from professional golfer to professional analyst it seems Paul Azinger is not scared to stir the proverbial pot, and as well he should, that's what the job is.

So you tend to get some of the best answers from guys like Azinger when something controversial happens, like the way Tiger Woods acted last week at Augusta National. Tiger had an infamous moment on the 16th hole when, after another bad swing, he kicked his club, and Mad Dog Radio asked Azinger about the way Tiger acted.

Here was the answer …

"Tiger's antics this week were an embarrassment to the game, to the membership at Augusta," Zinger said. "I was really disappointed to see him carry on that way. He's not trying to endear himself to anybody. And after he won Bay Hill I thought, ‘here we go again, this is going to be Tiger just kicking butt and taking names.' I don't know. I thought he acted like the south end of a northbound mule."

Honestly, is there a person alive that doesn't agree with what Azinger said, maybe to a lesser extent? Yes, Tiger acted childish, and for a 36-year-old it was rather embarrassing for him to do such things, but honestly, are you surprised? Is it that shocking that Tiger slammed his clubs and cussed into microphones and went David Beckham on his 9-iron?

I wasn't that surprised. Tiger has always seemed to act like this, and it doesn't seem like, if he hasn't changed before, he sure isn't going to change now.

Azinger was spot on with his commentary, but the surprising thing might be how unsurprised I was when I saw Tiger acting like Tiger. It's just the way the guy conducts himself on the golf course these days.
