Tiger Woods and Novak Djokovic have won tournaments twice on the same day in their careers. The most recent was when Woods captured the Buick Invitational (Torrey Pines, anyone?) and Djokovic won the Australian Open on the same day back in 2008.
Djokovic already earned his fourth Australian Open title earlier Sunday, so if Woods wins the Farmers Insurance Open (and if they finish Sunday) that would mean half of Djokovic's Aussie Open titles have been backed up on the same day by a Woods PGA Tour win.
That's pretty crazy.
Here are the two days it's happened previously:
Aug. 12, 2007 - Tiger: PGA Championship | Djokovic: Montreal, Canada
Jan. 27, 2008 - Tiger: Buick Invitational | Djokovic: Australian Open
What's even crazier is the history Woods and Roger Federer have shared.
Eight times Woods and Roger Federer have hoisted trophies on the same day, the most notable probably being September 2007 when Woods won the BMW Championship and Federer won the U.S. Open.
Feb. 16, 2003 - Tiger: Buick Invitational | Federer: Marseille, France
March 2, 2003 - Tiger: Accenture Match Play | Federer: Dubai, UAE
July 6, 2003 - Tiger: Western Open | Federer: Wimbledon
Aug. 21, 2005 - Tiger: NEC Invitational | Federer: Cincinnati, Ohio
Jan. 29, 2006 - Tiger: Buick Invitational | Federer: Australian Open
Sept. 9, 2007 - Tiger: BMW Championship | Federer: U.S. Open
June 7, 2009 - Tiger: Memorial Tournament | Federer: French Open
July 5, 2009 - Tiger: AT&T National | Federer: Wimbledon
Strangely enough, even though Rafael Nadal has more ATP wins than Djokovic, he and Woods have never won on the same day.
