The largest human QR code in the world has been constructed, and its backdrop is the Mission Hills Resort golf course in Shenzhen, China.
According to this article, 2,000 employees of the resort gathered together on one of their fairways to build the code.
The code actually works. And though it doesn't represent a Guinness World Record (here's the record holder), the resort itself is considered the largest Golf Club and Spa Resort on Earth.
The reason behind the code is "to promote eco-tourism to the world and to make sustainable tourism a global reality."
There's more though, the article explains:
The Group is giving away twenty 3 day / 2 night Romantic Premier Spa Suite Getaway packages at Mission Hills Haikou Resort on the tropical island of Hainan. When users scan the QR Code, they will be directed to a campaign website to answer three simple questions related to sustainable eco-tourism. Those who complete the questions with the correct answers will be entered into the draw for a chance to win one of the Mission Hills Micro Holiday packages valued at $2,600.
A QR code made with umbrellas coupled with a three-day getaway for some golf? I'm all in.
