The Honda Classic confirmed at a press conference on Tuesday that Tiger Woods will play in what is now his home-town event. Pat Murphy of CBS 12 in West Palm Beach, Fla. first reported the story.

Woods has also announced that he will play in the WGC-Cadillac Championship and WGC-Accenture Match Play tournament.

Woods joins Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood, Louis Oosthuizen, Justin Rose, and Rickie Fowler in the Honda Classic field. McIlroy is the defending champ and beat Woods by two strokes last year.

Woods has never won the event.

The Honda Classic will be the first non-match play tournament both Woods and McIlroy play in together in the United States for the 2013 season.
