Tiger Woods took control of the Arnold Palmer Invitational with his third-round 66 on Saturday. His back nine electrified the gallery and included a pretty funny dance on No. 17.

This is familiar territory for him -- both the third-round lead and a shot at closing out a win at Arnold Palmer's tournament at Bay Hill.

The latter Woods has done seven times -- an eighth victory would tie a record for wins at a single tournament (Sam Snead -- Greater Greensboro Open).

Here are a few of the other records at stake as Woods tries to get his third victory of the 2013 PGA Tour season:

  • This would be the fourth time Woods collected three wins before the Masters (2000, 2003, and 2008).
  • If Woods wins this would be 52 of 56 third-round leads or co-leads converted on the PGA Tour.
  • This would be Woods' 77th PGA Tour win. Only Sam Snead has more with 82.
  • A win would take him to the No. 1 ranking in the world, surpassing Rory McIlroy.
  • No matter what happens Sunday, Woods will surpass Ernie Els' record of 789 weeks in the world top 10.
  • With a win Woods will have started the Arnold Palmer Invitational 17 times and won it eight times. Think about that for a second.

I think Woods closes hard today playing with Rickie Fowler, especially since the only other time those two were paired together in a final round was at the Memorial last year when Fowler shot an 84 and Woods went on to win.
