Augusta National chairman Billy Payne talked Wednesday about some small changes that are coming to the 2014 Masters.

Here's the list:

  • All PGA Tour tournament winners will now get into the next Masters. Previously the Fall Series winners didn't get an invite but the PGA Tour season will now start in October and be part of the FedEx Cup so everybody gets in.
  • The Masters is eliminating the previous year's top-30 money list exemption and lowering the invitations from top 16 and ties at the previous year's Masters to top 12 and ties.
  • The 2014 cut will include top 50 and ties plus anyone within 10 shots of the lead. It was previously top 44 and ties plus anyone within 10 shots of the lead.

These are all minor changes that probably won't affect too many of the big-name golfers.

In fact, nobody in this year's field would have been adversely affected by the new rules, although a few guys who won events last fall would have gotten in -- Jonas Blixt, Tommy Gainey and Charlie Beljan to name three.
