Day one of the Masters is in the books and we have a nice little scoreboard to look at as we thunder toward the weekend.

Tiger Woods shot a 70 and remains the favorite for the tournament (for obvious reasons) but we have some new names joining him atop the favorites list.

Dustin Johnson is the one that stands out to me. As of yesterday, he was a 20-1 favorite and that number was 33-1 as recently as Monday.

Johnson is (and has been) a hot name among experts and commentators over the years to contend for Augusta because of his prodigious length. He's disappointed, though -- his best finish so far was a 30th place effort in 2009.

The 67 he shot on Thursday was his best round ever at the Masters and just the second time he's broken 70 in 13 tries.

I like his chances the rest of the way, though. Augusta has a steep learning curve and Johnson seems like he's at least making some headway.

Let's take a look some of the other odds:

Tiger Woods: 7-2
Dustin Johnson: 7-1
Sergio Garcia: 9-1
Matt Kuchar: 12-1
Adam Scott: 14-1
Phil Mickelson: 14-1
Justin Rose: 16-1
Rickie Fowler: 20-1
Rory McIlroy: 20-1
Brandt Snedeker: 25-1
Lee Westwood: 25-1
Charl Schwartzel: 33-1
Jim Furyk: 33-1
Jason Day: 40-1
Luke Donald: 40-1
Marc Leishman: 40-1
Fred Couples: 50-1

I still like Rose at 16-1 and I like Day as well at 40-1. Couples at 50-1 seems like a sucker's bet though. He's a fan favorite but the odds of him winning are a lot worse than 50-1.

If he could get to Sunday though...
