Because just what we needed is some more controversy, right?

Noted belly anchored putter enthusiast Tim Clark tied the second-best round of the tournament so far with a 5-under-par 67 early on Saturday morning at Augusta.

Clark shot up the leaderboard with a 31 on the first nine and held it in check on the second nine with a steady 36. He sits at 3 under for the week. Here's a look at his scorecard:

Earlier this year, Clark inserted himself into the center of the belly putter controversy that has taken the golf world by storm over the last few months.

Clark's best finish at the Masters is a second-place mark in 2006, when Phil Mickelson won. That's also the most recent time that he finished inside the top 10 at a major.

Clark finished up his round right as the leaders teed off, so he sits just three shots off Jason Day's lead. Only six golfers stand between the two men.

His wasn't the only low early round, either. Nick Watney and Thorbjorn Olesen both shot 68 as both were trying to recover from 78s on Thursday.

If anything, these three rounds tell us there are going to be some super-low scores at Augusta on Saturday, which means you should settle in and enjoy moving day at the Masters.
