Big surprise, right?
Tiger Woods is the defending champion and "host" of the AT&T National tournament at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md., and over the weekend he officially announced he would play it again in 2013.
Here's what Woods had to say on his website:
"I'm really looking forward to defending my title at the AT&T National. The Washington, D.C., community has been so supportive of the tournament, and I'm excited to play Congressional Country Club."
Officially, Woods is only committed to the other three majors and this tournament, but he will most likely play in THE Players Championship, the Memorial, the WGC events, and the FedEx Cup events. He hasn't officially announced whether he will play at Quail Hollow the first weekend in May, but tournament officials sure act like they expect him to.
There's nobody better at managing a schedule than Woods, so it always intrigues me to see which tournaments he chooses to participate in. He gets criticized for not playing certain events and is notorious for only picking courses he plays well at.
But isn't that the point?
