Report: Tiger Woods 15 canceled

There have been rumors swirling that Tiger Woods 15 (presumed to be released in March 2014) will be canceled and the research and development rolled over to Tiger Woods 16.

Kotaku has the reason and says EA Sports initially planned to outsource next year's version:

"EA's plan was to outsource that edition of the game, to give the in-house team two years to make Tiger Woods 16, taking advantage of all the PS4 and the next Xbox would have to offer."

Those new consoles won't be released until probably around the beginning of 2014 which obviously wouldn't give EA time to get the Woods game ready.

I actually kind of agree with the theory here. Sometimes I get tired of the minuscule tweaks games make from year to year just to sell product. A complete revamp for a brand new groundbreaking gaming console though, that's something I could get behind.

Although EA Sports better deliver because two years is a long time to wait to get your product out there. I think it's a move that pays off (literally and figuratively) in the end.
