Late on Tuesday, Ian Poulter withdrew from the Wells Fargo Championship citing "personal reasons." According to Golf Channel, he had actually already flown to Charlotte but decided to turn around and fly home shortly thereafter.

I'm not buying the "personal reasons" schtick. Why? Because Poulter tweeted these two things a week ago:

On Tuesday, we posted this photo of the horrendous greens at Quail Hollow.

So basically, I don't believe the "personal reasons" excuse because I can put two and two together.

Poulter's Twitter account has been the source of quite a bit of angst of late. A short while before he tweeted about the greens at Quail Hollow, he tweeted this jewel:

The self-imposed ban lasted eight days.
