The pairings for the U.S. Open are out (according to Jason Sobel) and even looking past the Tiger Woods-Rory McIlroy-Adam Scott extravaganza, we have some really outstanding groups.

Here's a look at a few of the best:

Phil Mickelson, Keegan Bradley and Steve Stricker

Matt Kuchar, Justin Rose and Brandt Snedeker

Luke Donald, Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer

Graeme McDowell, Jim Furyk and Zach Johnson

I love that Kuchar/Rose/Snedeker pairing. You can have Tiger and Rory, but I'll follow those three all day.

One of my favorite things about the U.S. Open is all the no-name stories and amateurs who have a shot, but those don't make for great drama on Thursday and Friday. So it's nice of the USGA to pair some of the big boys together to give us some fun before turning our attention to the leaders heading to the weekend.

It's also unfortunate that the Woods-McIlroy-Scott trio is going to bury everything else that happens in the first two days.
