Hunter Mahan, come on down!
The 31-year-old Mahan flew under the radar for the first two days of the British Open but that isn't the case any longer with an outfit that looked like Boise State's practice football uniforms and a 3-under 68 score that put him into red figures.
Mahan is one of only three golfers under par and will play with 54-hole leader Lee Westwood in the final group on Sunday. Tiger Woods bogeyed the 17th hole Saturday to play his way into the second-to-last group and open the door for Mahan.
Mahan's round included five birdies and just two bogeys despite the afternoon on Saturday playing pretty dried out and tough. Here's a look:
Mahan is 1-under par overall through three rounds -- tied for second place with Woods and two back of Westwood -- which he would definitely take as his final score. Phil Mickelson told ESPN's Tom Rinaldi after his round he thinks even par is going to win the tournament.
Mahan's best finish ever at the British Open was T6 2007. He's coming off a US Open where he finished T4 after playinig in the final group on Sunday with Mickelson.
