I told you last night one of Jason Day, Keegan Bradley, Graeme McDowell, Matt Kuchar and Ian Poulter could make a leap from way down the leaderboard to the top early before the leaders finished.

Looks like I got lucky.

Poulter went out eyes crazed and putter hot on Sunday and posted a final-round 67 to get in the clubhouse at 1 over.

Here's a look at his round:

Poulter started the day tied for 19th place but birdied, eagled, and fist-pumped his way all the way up to tied for fourth at the time of his finish.

The crowd got louder and wilder as each putt dropped on that stretch from hole No. 9 to hole No. 12. It was insanity.

I loved that Poulter went for every shot, too. He hit a driver on No. 15 when he as at even par that went 400 yards, and unfortunately rolled into a bunker, but still there was no let up in the Englishman.

Poulter's best finish ever at the British Open was a second place back in 2008 when Padraig Harrington won.

We'll wait and see if he tops that today.
