Justin Rose somehow upstaged his playing partner and clubhouse leader, Adam Scott on Friday at the PGA Championship.

Rose shot a 29 on his back nine (the front nine of the course) on Friday after posting 37 on his front nine for a total of 66. He's in the clubhouse at 6 under, one back of clubhouse leader Scott:

According to Justin Ray of ESPN, the PGA Championship record for nine holes is a 28 by Brad Faxon in the final round in 1995.

After Rose's round, playing partner Phil Mickelson praised both him and Scott.

"This is an ideal course to find out who's playing the best."

Rose and Scott took those honors on Friday. Their reward might be a final pairing together on Saturday afternoon.
