This is from Ireland's Independent on Saturday:

"Caroline Wozniacki is said to be 'utterly distraught' after her break-up with golfer Rory McIlroy."

Wait, what?!

It's true, the famous golf/tennis couple is reportedly splitsville as of very recently. The paper went on to say that McIlroy initiated the breakup but hasn't gone public with the news yet.

It also cited a source who said "They're done, it's over."

McIlroy was asked about the issue earlier this week but he declined to dig into it. "Uh-huh, yeah, it's all good. Just because we changed our Twitter profile picture doesn't mean that we're not together. But yeah, it's all good."

Here was McIlroy's response today to the article:

Not exactly a denial but not exactly confirmation either.

One thing we do know is that both parties are in New York right now -- McIlroy for The Barclays and Wozniacki for the US Open.

Brian Wacker of reported the two had dinner on Saturday night:

It'll be interesting to see who blinks first and opens up to the media (if this report is to be believed).

Wozniacki issued this tweet on Sunday afternoon in response to the rumors:
