Tiger Woods started off strong at Conway Farms, site of the 2013 BMW Championship, on Thursday afternoon with a 66.

He birdied his last hole (Woods started on the back nine) which finished off a quite colorful last nine holes.

Woods carded only two bogeys to go along with his seven birdies in round one.

Here' a look at his scorecard:

Woods trails leader Brandt Snedker -- who shot a 63 -- by five shots after round one and as Justin Ray of ESPN points out this is Woods sixth 66 or better round in the first two rounds of a tournament this season (seven overall).

Tiger took 28 putts on Thursday which is a little high for him but he could afford it since he hit 15 greens in regulation and 10 of 14 fairways.

Still, Woods wasn't thrilled with the way he played.

"I'm not exactly real happy. I played well, just didn't get much out of it."

That's typical Tiger speak after a good round -- he always thinks he should shoot a 60.

The 66 is good enough that he'll be the heavy (or heavier) favorite to win this tournament come round two on Friday.

Woods finished T4 in this event last year -- a tournament in which he shot 65 in the first round -- as his buddy Rory McIlroy took home the crown.
