Tiger Woods has won more matches than everyone in Presidents Cup history not named Jim Furyk (Woods and Furyk are tied at 20).

On Tuesday he said he wanted to extend that number and he didn't care who he was paired with to do it on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

"I've had all different types. It's just a matter of trying to jell that week. Sometimes we do, sometimes we don't."

He even joked that he needed somebody who would help him to victory.

"Whoever is playing well, whoever can carry me is great."

Fred Couples admitted that Tiger can pretty much play with whoever he wants to play with.

"I have consistency in Steve Stricker, Phil Mickelson and Tiger, and pretty much whatever they say is going to happen."

Although Couples went on to joke that Woods and Mickelson likely wouldn't be teeing it up any time soon.

Couples (seriously) mentioned Jason Dufner and Matt Kuchar as potential playing partners for Woods.

I would love to see a Woods and Dufner partnership. Given the success of the Keegan Bradley-Phil Mickelson duo it only seems fitting that Bradley's buddy, Dufner would be paired with Mickelson's longtime rival, Woods.

Other duos I want to see are Jordan Spieth-Brandt Snedeker, Hunter Mahan-Zach Johnson, and Webb Simpson-Matt Kuchar.

Whatever the case with the groupings (and we'll know on Wednesday), Couples and the rest of the US team will look to Woods to shoulder much of the load this week at Muirfield Village.

"As far as Tiger goes, he's our No. 1 guy."

Per the usual.
