The US Team needed only four points (of 12) in the singles matches and they got them on the ninth match of the day on Sunday (and eventually got another half for a final of 18.5 to 15.5).
Then Zach Johnson leaned on
The only question was who would finish it off.
Woods didn't trail on the back nine and just parred Richard Sterne to defeat, finally finishing him off with a four on the par-4 18th hole at the end.
It's the third straight time Woods has clinched the Presidents Cup for the US Team.
After the match Tiger Woods told Steve Sands of Golf Channel he was really excited about the win.
"We gave ourselves a really nice lead going into the singles. It was a tough day. It feels good."
The drama was not Ryder Cup-like as the team matches on Thursday and Friday offered much more excitement than anything on Saturday and Sunday.
But the end was briefly exciting as the International Team at least made US Team captain
After the Cup was over Couples said he would not be back in 2015 as captain. "A three-peat is good enough for me."
And for the US, it was its eighth win in 10 tries at this event.
Now we'll see if they can do it against a much tougher European squad next October.
