There are no worthy candidates!

Just kidding.

The World Golf Hall of Fame announced on Monday that it would skip a 2014 ceremony to review its process of how players currently are inducted into the Hall of Fame.

According to a release this means an "evaluation of the criteria and process for electing/selecting all five avenues of induction and a review of the production of the annual Induction Ceremony, including date, location and presentation."

Golf Channel noted the current criteria for PGA Tour players as well as Champions players.

"The current criteria calls for players on the PGA Tour to be at least 40 years old, a member for 10 years, with at least 10 PGA Tour wins, two majors or two Players titles."
"On the Champions Tour, a player must be at least a five-year member with more than 20 wins on the PGA and Champions tours, or five majors or Players wins."

One of the major qualms people have right now is that a candidate must receive 65 percent of the vote to get in BUT if nobody gets 65 percent then the candidate who receives the most votes (50 percent minimum) gets in.

That's what happened with Fred Couples earlier this year, he received just 51 percent. The other golf personalities who got in included Colin Montgomerie, Ken Schofield, and Ken Venturi.

Alan Shipnuck credits (blames?) Schofield's induction as the cause for re-evaluation:

Either way I bet we see a revamped process this time next year.
